This video shows the jumping of a normal salticid.
This event was recorded at 1000 fps and played back at 10 fps (i.e. 100 times more slowly than the original event). After take-off, the spider pitched rearward, but later underwent two pitch reversals to land smoothly with stable body posture. The film also demonstrates that the dragline silk produced during jumping was straight in tension throughout the jump.
